Superluck is the project of musician Miguel Acero. Born in Colombia and raised in the Midwest, Acero first emerged as the drummer for Columbus indie rock band The Candescents, who signed to Dirty Hit Records in 2016 before disbanding in 2019. In the years since, Acero has rebuilt his creative practice from the ground up—stepping into the role of songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist under the name Superluck, and fundamentally redefining his approach to the craft. In Superluck’s debut, grunge-leaning guitar tones sit alongside shimmering shoegaze textures and pop-minded songwriting, capturing the emotional tension of early adulthood—disillusionment, nostalgia, and the fragile optimism that exists between the two.
